Why an Internal Scan?

Some structures are simply too small, or too deep, to see clearly from outside the body. A transvaginal or transrectal probe sits much closer to the organ being examined, giving a sharper, more detailed image than a standard abdominal or pelvic ultrasound can provide.

Transvaginal Ultrasound

A small probe is gently inserted into the vagina to closely examine the uterus, ovaries and surrounding pelvic structures. It's commonly used to confirm early pregnancy, investigate ovarian cysts or fibroids, assess endometrial thickness, and evaluate unexplained pelvic pain or abnormal bleeding.

Transrectal Ultrasound

A probe is gently inserted into the rectum to closely assess the prostate gland — useful for investigating prostate enlargement, elevated PSA levels, or other prostate concerns.
